Aventuras de Raflo y Raúl alrededor del Mundo

How to read the book

The book can be read on a phone, a tablet, a computer, or an e-reader such as a Kindle or Kobo. This page explains how to open each format. As a rule of thumb: the EPUB is best on a phone, because the type reflows to fit the screen; the PDF is best on a computer, a large tablet, or for printing.

Downloads

Opening the ebook (EPUB) on an iPhone or iPad

  1. On the main page, tap “Download” under EPUB. Safari saves the file and shows a downloads icon (an arrow pointing down) at the top of the screen.
  2. Tap that icon, then tap Raflo-y-Raul.epub. It opens in Books, the Apple app that comes on every iPhone and iPad. If the phone asks what to open it with, choose Books.
  3. The book stays in your Books library. To change the type size, tap the middle of the page and use the reading menu.

If you would rather read in the Kindle app: Kindle does not open EPUB files directly on the phone. See the Kindle and e-reader section below.

Opening the ebook (EPUB) on Android

  1. On the main page, tap “Download” under EPUB. The file is saved to the Downloads folder and a notification appears.
  2. Tap the notification, or open the “Files” app (“My Files” on Samsung), go to Downloads, and tap Raflo-y-Raul.epub.
  3. The phone will ask which app to use. Google Play Books comes on most Android phones and opens the file as is. If no option appears, install “Google Play Books” or a reader such as ReadEra free from the Play Store, then tap the file again.

If you would rather use the Kindle app, see the Kindle and e-reader section below.

Kindle and other e-readers

  1. Kindle: the simplest route is Send to Kindle. From a computer, go to amazon.com/sendtokindle, sign in with your Amazon account, drag in Raflo-y-Raul.epub and send it. Within a few minutes the book appears on the Kindle and in the Kindle app on your phone, with adjustable type like any other book. You can also email the file as an attachment to your Kindle address (found on amazon.com under “Devices and content”).
  2. Kobo: connect the reader to the computer with its USB cable, copy Raflo-y-Raul.epub into the Kobo’s main folder and disconnect; the book appears in the library. Recent models can also open the file from Google Drive or Dropbox, under “More” and then “Settings”.
  3. Other readers (PocketBook, Boox, Nook, tolino, Sony): all of them read EPUB files. Copy the file over USB into the device’s books folder, or upload it to whichever cloud the device uses (Dropbox, Google Drive or the maker’s own) and open it from there.

If you copy books over USB often, the free program Calibre (calibre-ebook.com, for Mac and Windows) recognises almost every reader and does the copy in one click. The PDF works on these devices too, but on a small screen the type becomes tiny; the EPUB is the better choice.

Opening the PDF on a phone or computer

  1. iPhone or iPad: tapping “Download” under PDF shows the book on screen in Safari. To keep it, tap the share button (the square with an arrow pointing up) and choose “Books” or “Save to Files”.
  2. Android: the PDF is saved to Downloads. Open it from the notification or from the “Files” app; it opens in Google Drive, Chrome, or any PDF reader you have installed.
  3. Computer: click “Download” under PDF and the file lands in your Downloads folder. Double-click to open it: Preview on a Mac, Microsoft Edge or Acrobat Reader on Windows.

To print at home: print double-sided at actual size (not “fit to page”). The book is 6 × 9 inches, smaller than a letter sheet, so each page sits centred with margins around it.
